By now, it is assumed that a lot of people in the world know who Hailey Welch, or ‘Hawk Tuah’ girl is. And if you don’t, she is a woman who got famous because of a clip of her that went viral in which she explains a sexual act on camera, and gives a sound effect.

Hailey Welch was a factory worker in Tennessee at the time of her viral blow up. She did what anyone would do, and tried to make something of her newfound fame. Welch signed to a management company, and capitalised on a bunch of opportunities that were afforded to her, such as throwing the first pitch at a Major League Baseball game, and started her own podcast, called ‘Talk Tuah’.

Welch’s latest venture, however, did not turn out so well. Hailey decided to collaborate with two guys who are quite well known in the crypto space, one of them named ‘Doc Hollywood’. Welch and the two men start developing the coin, promoting it to fans, even giving out free coins to fans to get them excited for this huge opportunity to make some big money. People get excited, they start getting ready to put their money into this coin, trusting that with her popularity it will make some money.

Eventually, the coin gets launched, and does super well. The coin hits a market cap of $500,000,000 USD which is incredibly large for a meme coin. Investors begin to get excited, thinking they’ve invested in a good coin. Unfortunately for them, this is not the case.

Almost immediately after achieving this huge market cap, Welch’s meme coin loses 95% of its cap, falling drastically to $25,000,000. A lot of fans lost a ton of money on the coin, with the share price going from $0.04916 to $0.002439 the following day. However, it is said that Hailey and her crypto buddies actually didn’t lose any money, and according to some reports, they actually generated over $1 million dollars in transaction fees during the launch.

Not long after the launch, after receiving immense backlash and being put under pressure by fans and the media, Welch and Doc Hollywood decide to go live on X, to speak about what had happened and try to explain themselves. Another well known crypto YouTuber, Coffezilla, joined their livestream on X and confronted them, as he said he had been following the coin’s launch on a couple of different softwares.

The first tweet which hinted at the coin being a scam was from Bubblemaps, which highlighted that 96% of the coins ownership was held by one cluster of people, which Coffeezilla highlights in his analysis video, as well as the fact that a lot of tokens were pre-sold to insiders before the launch, so that when it launched they were able to cash them in for thousands of dollars, causing shares to plummet to the ground.

When Coffeezilla did confront Hawk Tuah Girl and Doc Hollywood about this launch being a potential rug pull, they denied that they had done any insider trading, and they denied that they were profiting from the fees they had set out, claiming that they were put in place to “stop snipers”. Coffeezilla pressed home a number of issues with the coin launch, trying to get an admission from the team, but they kept deflecting.

Later on, in the middle of her live, Hailey interrupts, saying “Hey guys, I hate to interrupt you Nick, but, hello there, but, anywho, I’m gonna go to bed, and I’ll see you guys tomorrow.” Hailey then gets off this livestream, and now no one has heard from her since. The price of her Hawk coin is now $0.000001022 USD, according to CoinMarketCap.com.

It was a valiant effort, but it seems as though Hailey’s latest venture may have caused her downfall, as she has now been offline for 6 days and counting. There will be updates to follow, as I’m sure the plot will thicken.
