Rakim Mayers, also known as A$AP Rocky, was today acquitted of two felony assault charges which were in relation to an incident between him and former rap group member Terell Ephron, also known as A$AP Relli.

Mayers and Ephron were involved in an incident on 2021, in which Ephron accused Mayers of pointing and firing a semi-automatic weapon at him, causing an injury to Ephron's hand. Rakim Mayers' team of defence attorneys maintained that the gun was a prop used for music videos and that the prop gun was used to diffuse an altercation in which Ephron was the aggressor.

Mayers received the verdict on February 18th, and was overcome with an immense sense of relief, as Mayers was offered a plea deal, which would've seen him plead guilty and serve a mere fraction of the 24 year prison sentence that the charge would have carried, but declined it. Mayers was confident that he could fight the case, and he did, and won.

Although the case is now closed, and Rakim Mayers has been acquitted, Terell Ephron has filed a civil lawsuit, as Ephron's main motive behind pursuing legal action to begin with seemed to be to receiving some kind of compensation from Mayers, as many insiders have reported that Ephron was somewhat jealous of Mayers. Sceptics have been speculating that Ephron filed the lawsuit with the hopes of it gaining traction in the media to give him a better chance at being noticed again and also a good chance of receiving some form of compensation from it.
